Bali Sea Salt

A bit of sea salt can transform your hair – It texturizes your hair, holds it up in style, and  gives your hair volume naturally. Sea salt also absorbs excess oil and moisture to prevent fungal growth and the root of dandruff.

Bali Sea Salt is a lesser known local produce, and it’s a hard trade with lengthy process. It begins by creating a flat, solid base of sand, and the fine black sands of Klungkung regency are perfect for it. 

The farmer then collects salt water from the sea and sprays it along the top of the sand bed several times before he let the sand dry naturally under the sun.

Bamboo Charcoal

Bamboo charcoal can adsorb (NOT absorb!) toxins, impurities, and free radicals WITHOUT stripping your body’s natural oil. Its antiviral property kills all viruses on contact and can act as a potent skin cleanser. Compare to regular charcoal, bamboo charcoal has 10 times MORE surface area and is 4 times STRONGER in its absorption rate. 

Activated bamboo charcoal helps drawing blackheads to the surface, so you can extract them more easily. Consistent use will help eliminate blackheads, whiteheads, reduce acne, and make pores look smaller. In addition, it can also whiten your teeth.

Chamomile

Most people know about chamomile’s calming and relaxing benefits when it’s consumed as herbal tea, but it also has tremendous benefits to your skin. Its anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, antibacterial, antiseptic, and antioxidant qualities help in a whole range of skin issues.

Chamomile cleanses and calms irritated skin, helps fight frequent breakouts, penetrates below the skin surface, and reduces eczema.

Castor Oil

Castor oil contains antioxidants that fight free radicals in your body and helps to remove dark circles. Its antibacterial properties help to prevent acne, as well as helping you to protect your follicles from damage and promote hair growth.

The essential fatty acids castor oil contains can help to restore the skin’s natural moisture, reducing puffiness and dryness. It also penetrates the skin and stimulates the body’s own collagen and elastin productions. 

Coconut Oil

Sukime uses high-grade cold-pressed coconut oil as a carrier oil in nearly all of our products. It’s an extremely versatile fruit. A Balinese stable and superfood, you can easily see coconut trees everywhere all year round.

In southeast Asia, coconut oil is a household item and is used in cooking, as well as treating chapped, dry skin. Coconut oil minimizes fine lines and wrinkles, calms temporary redness, and it absorbs easily. It can also work as a protective layer when exposing yourself to the sun (However, do NOT use it as a sunscreen.)

Studies have also shown that the fatty acids in coconut make the oil easy to absorb by the hair and helps with hair that was undamaged, bleached, chemically treated, and UV exposed to reduce protein loss. It also promotes hair growth.

Cajeput Oil

Also known as whitewood oil, cajeput oil is extracted via steam distillation from the fresh leaves and twigs of cajeput and paperbark trees. These tropical trees are found mostly in Sulawesi, Indonesia, and in certain parts of Australia. 

Cajeput oil is great for Calming irritated skin by producing a natural protective barrier, reducing scars, itchiness, rashes, and insect bites. Its analgesic properties help reducing head, gum, joint, and muscle pains. It’s safe to apply it on babies as it can rid of baby’s nappy rashes! As an astringent, it helps to remove excess oil while shrinking your skin pores. It can also be used as a hair tonic to reduce split ends and breakage, as well as dryness on the scalp.

In addition, cajeput oil can release stress and calm the mind. Its anti-spasmodic quality helps clear obstructed menstruation.

Carrot Oil

Carrot oil is made by crushing carrot roots infused in a carrier oil. It has many qualities that are beneficial to the skin. The abundance of vitamin A prepares your skin for tanning, makes a great natural tanning accelerator.

It also helps to minimize wrinkles, detoxify and rejuvenate, moisturize, and adds antioxidant protection to the skin. Besides, carrot oil boosts blood circulation to the scalp when used to massage the scalp, hydrates your hair, and keeps it healthier from root to top.

It also contains vitamins E, B1, and B6 which are necessary for healthy hair growth and clear bright skin. These qualities shield your skin and hair from outdoor damage, including UV and environmental pollution.

Carrot Seed Oil

Often confused with carrot oil, the carrot seed oil is extracted from the seeds of the daucus carota plant.

Its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties help heal dry, chapped, and cracked skin, as well as balancing the moisture in skin and hair.

It has promising potential as an antibacterial and anti-fungal agent. Another great property of carrot seed oil is its UV protection. However, we don’t recommend using it as sunscreen!

Citronella Oil

Citronella slows or prevents the growth or spread of harmful airborne bacteria, repels flying insects, uplifts negative moods, and relaxes the body and mind. It also reduces muscle spasms, eases headaches, and boosts energy.

Citronella can also eliminate head and body lice, improves skin’s absorption of moisture, prevents fungus growth on wounds, and boosts the healing of wounds and immunity.

Clove Oil

Clove oil is a powerful anti-aging ingredient when it’s used in cosmetics. It removes dead skin cells and promotes blood circulation, returns your skin to its youth and radiance. 

Clove oil has been used for centuries in Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicinal practices. It fades dark spots and evens skin tone. It also promotes hair growth, efficiently treats dandruff, and reducing itchiness.

Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter is extracted from roasted cacao beans. It contains natural saturated fats and antioxidants that help to soften and heal the skin. It is also rich in vitamin A and E. Pure Essential Oils

Essential oil blend is the oily liquid obtained from plants through a variety of processes. It usually has the taste and smell of the original plant. Why is it called “essential oil”? The theory is throughout history,  plants and herbs were essential to life, and they were the “essence” of the plant.

The use of essential oils as preservatives is ancient. Sukime uses many citrus-type essential oils in our products because of their naturally high vitamin C content. It’s ways safer and more natural to nourish your skin with all-natural vegan body care products rather than unknown chemicals that are possibly tested on animals.

*Matcha* Green Tea

Matcha is made from tencha tea, which is a type of green tea. The leaves were kept in the shade and steamed before the grinding process.

Matcha contains chlorophyll, which is a natural anti-bacterial. Not only it removes excess oils from your skin, but it also helps eliminate bacteria that cause acne. Its soothing coolness can help reduce redness from rosacea, acne, and other skin condition. Other benefits include quenches inflammation and even complexion.

Guar Gum is a natural resin from the seeds (guar beans) of an Asian tree (Cyamopsis tetragonolobus). It increases emulsion stability and retains water in your skin. It’s an excellent thickening and binding agent.

Moringa Oil

Moringa, also known as the “miracle tree” or “the tree of life”, is one of the popular vegetables among the Kaili ethnic tribe in Central Sulawesi. Records has also shown that Indians used Moringa as a medicine since 5,000 years ago.

Its oil contains 72% of oleic acid, which is a fatty acid that’s perfect for dry and aging skin. It penetrates the skin deeply and locks in the moisture, provides the necessary nutrients to the skin and hair. It’s anti-inflammatory properties help the scalp scaling and moisturizes well. It also has zinc that helps with keratin production to help strengthen, protect, and moisturize the hair.

Our Moringa Oil is made from its seed and can prevent ulcer and oral cavity. It has 7 times the vitamin C of an orange, 4 times the vitamin A of carrots, 4 times the calcium of milk, 3 times the potassium of bananas, and 2 times the protein of yogurt. These properties help develop strong gums, prevent gum disease, and harmful bacterial infections.

Grapeseed Oil

Grape seeds contain the powerful anti-oxidant proanthocyanidin, which supports the actions of vitamin E and beta-carotene while increasing the action of Vitamin C.

Incorporate grapeseed oil as a part of your daily beauty ritual can encourage wound healing, regenerate damaged blood vessel, and helps clear potentially pathogenic bacteria from wounds. It has anti-inflammatory properties and enhances the formation of epidermal tissue.

Lecithin

Lecithin is an essential fat in the cells of the body, and it’s presented in all living cells. It is a waxy oil derived from soybeans that have a great water-binding ability, and it acts as an anti-oxidant and emulsifier.

It acts as a natural humectant that helps to keep your skin hydrated, regenerate and renew your skin cells. Soy lecithin has loads of antioxidants and emollient properties which effectively treat dark spots, blemishes, and acne. 

Lemongrass Oil

Lemongrass is an essential herb to Thai, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Indonesian countries. it’s widely used in Southeast Asian cuisines, tea, and skincare.
